Who We Are

The Texas Food & Fuel Association represents the state’s leading firms engaged in petroleum marketing, grocery distribution and convenience/grocery retailing industries. In 2012, the Texas Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association and the Texas Grocery and Convenience Association merged to establish the Texas Food & Fuel Association. The association’s membership includes over 700 companies.

Our members represent the most successful, most adept businesses in the food and fuel industries. The association’s fuel distributor members are responsible for two thirds of all of the motor fuel sold in Texas. Our retail members own and/or operate approximately 5,000 facilities. Members of the Texas Food & Fuel Association include single store operators as well as some of the nation’s largest and most innovative retail chains. Grocery distributor members include wholesale distributors who service convenience and grocery stores as well as other small format retailers throughout the state.

The association’s supplier members are among the world’s largest refiners of petroleum products, food manufacturers, tobacco companies, beverage companies, equipment manufacturers and vendors as well as many other firms engaged in supplying goods and services to the grocery and convenience channels of trade.

Combined, the retail and grocery industries in Texas generate over $60 billion in annual sales each year and employ in excess of 250,000 Texans. Texas leads the nation in the number of convenience stores located in a single state (14,000). The association’s fuel distributor and retailer members own, operate and supply in excess of 10,000 of these 14,000 facilities.
